This is my new Miniature old witch with her great horned owl. She is designed for a 1:12 1'=1" miniature scale haunted dollhouse or Witches roombox. The witch is only 5 1/2" tall without her cloth Witch hat on. I hand sculpted the owl the hand painted it's face and applied a lot of real tiny feathers on it's body. You can gently pose it's wings and with the stand it is 5 1/2" tall. The witch is dressed in vintage black fabric and lace. You can gently pose the witch and she is designed to stand... but could use some miniature wax for support. This piece is OOAK (One of a kind) numbered 1/1 and signed by me. Miss Havisham Dollhouse Miniature art doll By Pat Benedict

She was dressed in rich materials — satins, and lace, and silks — all of white. Her shoes were white. And she had a long white veil dependent from her hair, and she had bridal flowers in her hair, but her hair was white. Some bright jewels sparkled on her neck and on her hands, and some other jewels lay sparkling on the table. Dresses, less splendid than the dress she wore, and half-packed trunks were scattered about. She had not quite finished dressing, for she had but one shoe on — the other was on the table near her hand — her veil was half arranged, her watch and chain were not put on, and some lace for her bosom lay with those trinkets and with her handkerchief, and gloves, and some flowers, and a prayer-book, all confusedly heaped about the looking-glass. It was not in the first moments that I saw all these things, though I saw more of them in the first moments than might be supposed. But, I saw that everything within my view which ought to be white, had been white long ago, and had lost its luster, and was faded and yellow. I saw that the bride within the bridal dress had withered like the dress, and like the flowers, and had no brightness left but the brightness of her sunken eyes. I saw that the dress had been put upon the rounded figure of a young woman, and that the figure upon which it now hung loose, had shrunk to skin and bone. Once, I had been taken to see some ghastly wax-work at the Fair, representing I know not what impossible personage lying in state. Once, I had been taken to one of our old marsh churches to see a skeleton in the ashes of a rich dress, that had been dug out of a vault under the church pavement. Now wax-work and skeleton seemed to have dark eyes that moved and looked at me. I should have cried out, if I could. Pip from Charles Dickens Great Expectations I love the movie Great Exceptions and this is my interpretation of Miss Havisham This is my new Miniature designed for a 1:12 1'=1" miniature scale. Miss Havisham is dresses in vintage satin and lace with hand sewn glass beads.The total piece sitting is a little under 4 1/2" and she can be removed from her chair. You can gently pose her but she is designed to sit also she has only one shoe on (as described in the story) I love her faraway look in her eyes and her unkempt ringlet hair. It feels GREAT to be back to my old wicked self and sculpting what I truly love . . . Witches.
This is my new Haunted Miniature (could fit into a 1:12 1'=1" miniature scale...it’s a fantasy sculpt) I found this wonderful vintage cast-iron black sled. I created a winter witch riding in the sled holding the reins of her black Spectral horse. The sled is 8" long 5" tall and almost 3" wide. The total length with the spectra horse is 13". The winter witch’s clothes are created from a vintage Victorian black dress other vintage fabrics. I really love the way she turned out!

I purchased a 12" Vintage Godinger Silverplate Candelabra at a yard sale this spring. The Candelabra was perfect for my Vampire Gothic Halloween center piece. I hand sculpted Cocooned vampires in various stages waking up and added them to the Candelabra. This set comes with five Black LED 11" Flamless tapers with batteries. The Cocooned Vampires are 5 ½" long and can be removed from a hook on the candelabra and used as ornaments.

I created my first "Revenge of the veggies"with my monster vegetables in 2010, in honor of my son "Chef Gan" I always have so much fun creating these sets. Verbena is ready to travel to the Halloween farmers market with her Halloween Monster plants. New this year is Boogonia and the Paranormal Phantom that glows in the dark. She also has three Nasty newborn Nigella’s, Two Bat wing great for your terrifying trellis, eyeball Cardoon, Poisonous Pansy, Red Blood Orchard and the Terrible Two headed Sunflower . Her festive Halloween wagon is all decorated for the trip...even her bats are going!

I had so much fun creating this unique one of a kind piece...Can you tell I have spring fever and want to start my gardening! I found a wonderful vintage Italian souvenir wagon and turned it into my Halloween wagon. It is old and shows wear but it really adds to the theme. The wagon and horse are 12" long and to the top of the horses ears it’s 6 ½" tall. Verbena is 5 ½" tall without her hat...she has fun red/orange hair. She arms can be posed and she can hold different plants. Due to the many hours I spent on this unique set I will have to start the bidding off high.Happy Haunted Spring! Patty

My new Haunted Miniature piece comes with everything you see a total of five miniature dolls and a coffin. I really like the haunted look of this fun creepy little miniature piece!
The minister is 5 3/4" tall with his hat on and his little dwarf pallbearers are only 3 3/4" tall. NOTE: the pallbearers holing the casket cannot be removed. The old gentleman in the casket can be removed and is designed to lie in the casket.

My new Miniature " Zombie Mourning"...I just love creating Zombies! Her mourning hat black veil can be lifted to display her Zombie face.I really love the way she turned out Gothic and creepy. Her hat is very ornate with feathers, lace and black flowers and the hat can not be removed. She is designed for a 1:12 scale dollhouse or roombox and sitting she is only 4 3/4" tall. She can be removed from her chair that is included in this auction. I have incorporated vintage lace into her hand sewn mourning dress. This is my first 1/4" scale Frankenstein's Monster and Igor. They are designed for a 1:48 scale dollhouse The Monster is only 1 5/8" tall and Igor is just a little under 1" tall and their arms can be gently posed. They do stand but could use some miniature wax foe support. This year I will be challenging myself to sculpt different miniature scales and also familiars to go with my Witches. Also I will be sculpting some Medieval & Fantasy Miniatures... this should be a fun creative year!

Netflix Exercise diet! I'm finally loosing weight

I’m 52 years old, 5' 4" and weigh 126 pounds I have gained a lot of weight in my belly, butt and hips! So After Thanksgiving after I ate almost the whole Cheery pie I made (It was yummy!) I decided enough . . . time to get healthy and loose some inches off this belly! I don’t want to look like a super model I just want to tone up and feel better.
I started working out 10 minutes in the morning and afternoon. I use Netflix fitness instant streaming videos for my workouts, and they are great! I get board very easily and with the choice’s Netfilx has I can choose to work my abs or work off the carbs. I’m an exercise slacker and have not exercised for years so I stated off with the 10 Minute Solution: Target Toning, the instructor really explains how exercise correctly at a nice slow pace. Then I used Crunch: Super Slim down, it’s a great stretching workout. Then I started to move faster with the Crunch: Fat Burning Ab Attack! OMG she kicked my butt but I felt GREAT after. Last I use the 10 Minute Solution Carb Burner she also kicks my butt but I have felt very strong after only a couple workouts.
I’m watching what I eat but I’m still having a very small bowl (Tennis ball size) of Ice cream for a snack. I have also put the weight scale away, and I want to loose inches and gain mussels. I’m not obsessing about my weight just want to have more energy and stay healthy.
As of today my pants are getting loose and I have a lot more energy, sleeping better, appetite has decreed and I’m feeling GREAT!

So if you’re an exercise slacker like me try Netflix for your workout regiments . . . get healthy!

La Befana Miniature / Ornament of eBay tonight

La Befana

According to Italian legend, La Befana was a witch living at the time of the birth of Jesus. The three wise men were on their way to Bethlehem, when they invited La Befana to come along. She was busy with her housework and declined. Later, once she had finished her cleaning, she set off on her broomstick with toys for the Gesú Bambino (Baby Jesus). However, she could not find the Three Kings and soon lost her way. Italian children believe that La Befana is still looking for Baby Jesus, and on the eve of the Epiphany(January 6th), she flies down the chimney of each house, and leaves gifts in the children’s shoes or Stockings which are left by the fireplace.

I have always enjoyed creating "La Befana" during the holidays. She can be used as a ornament or Flying (hanging) above your Christmas dollhouse. Total length of broom is 7" and height is only 3" (Top of package in sack)

I thought I would share some photos of our Halloween "Monster Wedding Party". I squeezed in to a vintage wedding dress and my monster's bride wig was a hoot! It kept moving on my head...felt like Marty Feldman on Young Frankenstein (Igor's hump kept changing sides!). My husband Gan is such a great guy he let me cover his face with green shiny eye makeup, but his bolts on his neck kept falling off!
All our friend's dressed up and we had a blast!

Getting Ready for My Halloween Party!!!

There are only eight weeks until my "Monsters Wedding Party" in Celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the Classic Movie "The Bride of Frankenstein" I have mailed out the "Save the Date" notes and I'm working on the Formal Invitation.

I'll be posting all the fun ways I'm going to decorate for the party!

The Colors I have chosen is Black, White & Monster Green! I have been collecting ceramic figures from garage sales (Will let you know what I have planned for them later)

I have purchased two Large Black Ravens from Michaels . . . on sale this week for 6.99 each, and they will go great with my dollar store black birds from last year.

My Favorite places to find GREAT Halloween goodies are, TJ Max, Tuesday Mornings, Cracker Barrel, Michaels and all the great little antique shops in Northwest Missouri!

My NEW little Fantasy Miniatures . . . I have decided to try sculpting fantasy miniatures in no particular miniature scale. You can remove the elf and young dragon so they can be displayed in your miniature medieval castle or on the woodland display. The woodland display was used then I added my special little woodland touches and trued it into the elf’s little secret training place.

The elf is only 2 " tall and his flying wings are 3 3/4" long. The little young dragon is only 1 3/4" head to tail and 2 ½" bottom to top of the wing (Wings can be posed). They both stand but need miniature wax for support.

I have transformed a non working Vintage German Cuckoo clock and turned it into “The Haunted Cuckoo Clock” My Husband Gan replaced the old non working clock parts with a NEW battery clock, he also replaced the new clock hand with Black metal vintage clock hands.
I spooked up the clock with some paint and my hand sculpted Halloween creatures! I sculpted a Witch, Mummy, Skeleton, Monster, Ghost and a tiny Witch on her broom in-place of the cuckoo bird. (This clock does not cuckoo) I also created my Cocooned Vampires hanging from the bottom chains. It’s a true One of a kind! The whole creation hanging is 23" long, and the wooden clock is around 10".

I believe in fate and Karma . . . I must have done something right! I have a very special friend whom I love very much! Her name is Diane and she is the driving spirit behind the Puppetry Arts Institute a wonderful Puppet museum in Independence Missouri. Diane gave me a very early Christmas gift! She gave me her Halloween collection! I spent almost three hours going though 13 boxes of all her Halloween goodies and what you see in the photos are now mine!!!! I’m so excited and overwhelmed. Just had to share!!!!

This piece was so much fun to create I call it “The Medieval Mushroom Witch. She is only 5" tall without her hat . . . love her little mushrooms in the basket. The castle door was also a lot of fun to create! I purchased a 10" tall wooden fairy door at the local craft store and created paper clay stones for the wall. I hand painted the piece to give it a cool old witches castle look. This piece can be hung on the wall . . . the witch can be permanently attached but for now she can be removed.

Are two white wooden doors, with a glow that seems to last forever.
Turning the cold handle, there is a pop, creek and a bang.
The door flies open, and the world has just changed.
She squints her eyes for a moment because the room is so bright.
Pumpkin orange walls reflecting the light.
She grips her coffee with both hands to keep warm.
Then looks over her studio, a place, she must have been born.

She walks over to her desk that is covered with paint.
Sits down, takes a drink, and for a moment, just waits.
The sun shines in, from all the windows surrounding.
She says in a whisper to herself “ Lets start this mourning”.
With hands so stiff and full of different colors.
She reaches for her clay, with delicacy, of only a mother.
With strong fingertips she starts forming the cold block.
Softer its getting, like glue when its hot.
She sets the block down and wonders what to make.
Her customers online, don’t like to wait.

The sights and sounds come to her from Boris and Henson.
As to summon their spirits, or at least, just wishing.
Her hands turn faster and her hands begin to limber.
The hours pass by and every second is forever.
Feathers fly around the room in every direction.
The smell of warm cooking clay comes from the oven.
Then with a paint brush so small she paints on her creation.
The strokes are so small, with up-most attention.
Through the phone calls and bathroom breaks she will not let up.
With one thing in mind, she will climb to the top.

With a masterful eye she looks down on what she has made.
She would love to keep what was created, but the bills have to be paid.
The fingers begin to tighten and body begins to tire.
Rubbing her forehead with an exhaustion, that any artist can admire.
With cold coffee in her hand and the days worn chill approaching.
She stands up from the painted desk, and starts her dissention.
The room goes dark ,but the smells still linger.
Cooked clay, glue, the blood and sweat from her fingers.
The white doors close softly as if weeping in sorrow.
“Don’t worry” she says “ I will be back tomorrow”.

The whole creative design of this Top Hat stared out with a vintage Mele jewelry Music box that has a dancing ballerina. I knew I wanted to create something very different using the music component and the dancing ballerina. I panted a one size fits all hard sturdy felt top hat gold, then I added the jewelry box vintage lining and the musical box . . . I LOVE the way it all turned out! And the Ballerina really dances.

This one of a kind (OOAK) top Hat would be great for a Mad Hatters Tea Party, Victorian, Steampunk, gothic or Halloween Ball! I have created a special liner for the inside of the top hat so it just fits on the top of your head . . . you wind the music box from inside the top Hat.

I had to call my Mother in Colorado to have her listen to the music box, the music is very cool and she determined it was “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” written for the 1934 film “Moulin Rouge” . . . it’s not to be confused with the Green Day song. Thanks Mom!

The Hat is almost 12" tall and 12" long, created on a generic One size fits all black Top Hat.

It's Haunting time...Ghost clock NOW on eBay

I found this great old copper clock and just had to turn it into a "Haunted Clock"

I have hand sculpted the spooky ghost and the little skull . . . this is NOT a working clock and the glass has been removed. It’s really cool because it’s a luminous clock face and clock hand which the ghost is holding . . . It’s almost midnight the haunting time!

The clock is 5 ½" tall made by the Robertshaw-fulton controls company.

The piece is signed and dated 2010 by me... Miniature artist Pat Benedict...Woopitydooart. I sell exclusively on eBay.
