Working on my new art studio

To start out the New Year we are redoing my art studio. My husband Gan is doing most of the work, I just help sand and paint. I'm posting photos as we go! I will not be creating until I have moved back into my NEW orange studio.

A Alcoholic Christmas

YES! I'm a alcoholic and have been sober since 2002! The holidays can be very hard on Non-drinkers being around all the parties and lets face it DRUNKS! It's not easy seeing someone you love act like a jerk when they drink, but it's up to the person to know their drinking limit. When I was a drunk I would say and do things I really regret! But I have the most amazing children (Gan 26, Ken 23, and Annie 20) who forgave their mother for being the "Drunk Mom". So as a gift to your children during the holidays don't let YOUR drinking be the thing your children remember the MOST about the holidays.

Ice Storm hits my City, Saint Joseph , Missouri

We just received our Electricity back again for the third time but I think it's on for good today, Saint Joseph still has over thirty thousand homes without power! Thank goodness it's just me and husband Gan, two dogs, two Cats, two birds and a turtle named filbert! We stayed warm with a gas log insert and a lot of layered clothing! We used our mickey mouse phone in our landlines because all the cell phones were out.It's so nice to be warm again! I took some photos of the storm...BURRRRRRR!

My New Winter Witch on eBay

My First Miniature Nativity set

I'm finally finished. This was a special piece for a very special person!I designed Joseph to be holding Mary and Baby Jesus. Baby Jesus can be taken and placed in the manger. One family tradition is to only place Baby Jesus in the manger on Christmas morning. This was a wonderful set to sculpt while I listened to Christmas music and envisioned the Holy family. Merry Christmas!

Midnight Snow Holiday tree for Charity

Happy Holidays!! I'm donating my fun little "Midnight Snow" decorated tree to the Saint Joseph Downtown Associations "Winter Night Extravaganza" auction. All the money raised will go to the "Noyes Home" to purchase gifts for the children living at the home. The Noyes Home is very dear to our family...all my children went to school with children who live at the home. Noyes home is a safe place for kids to live while their parents try to get off drugs or find NEW home for the children. Noyes home is privately funded... I hope my donation will bring much needed funds.

My new Hair-do

Crazy Hair day!!

Throughout my whole 27 years of marriage I did not color my hair. Then last spring I went NUTS!! And I’m loving it!! I found this wonderful little Hair Stylist Megan Thomas from the Hair Fair Ltd II( she is the one in the front of the photo at the “Halloween art spooktacular” ) Yesterday I changed my color AGAIN and it’s really cool and different. I went from Pink, dark brown and a little purple to Titanium, golden brown and a little blue! Megan also styled my hair into a really cool short cut! I just LOVE her style she is like an artist and gets so excited sculpting and coloring my hair. I’m going through a creative change right now . . . I’m creating an ALL Pink Christmas, Changing all my clothing into vintage and bright colors, redecorating my house! I’m going creative-Bananas!

Change is scary but for me it’s necessary sooo I can keep my creative juices fresh!!!

New designs...It's nice to be back

It’s been a great week!
I’m feeling back to my old funky self and started to design some unique stuff . . . a Yeti Holiday pin, Vamper Moon pin, witch wands and of course more of my ornaments. We have a new little shop in our downtown named Mod-Podge, it is owned by designer Casey Wallerstedt. Casey is a designer and textile’s artist her website is www.modpodge4u.com (I taught Casey Fimo art when she was in elementary school..I feel sooooo OLD!) .

Also I’m designing a Christmas tree to be auctioned off Tuesday, November 27th in the “Winter Night Extravaganza” hosted by the St. Joseph Downtown Association. All the money will go to the “Noyes Home” to be used for gifts for the children at the home. The Noyes home is very dear to our Families heart! I’m sculpting my Pixie Pine cone Chenille ornaments on a really cool metal 3 foot tree. It will have an outdoor rustic look . . . I’ll post photos when I’m done.

NEW eBay store

As an artist I’m always challenging myself to try different things. This past Halloween with the Halloween Art Spooktacular I was totally burnt out and did not even want to look at another pumpkin! I know this feeling very well and it’s time for another change. So I opened a store to sell my “Yadiloh” ornaments and pins. My daughter Annie will be coming down this weekend and I hope she will help me with the store design. I’m really nervous stepping away from Halloween art (Just for a time) and jumping feet or head or Ass first into a whole new world, but that’s me always trying something new. So wish me luck and hope my customers like my new designs.

I’ll keep posting a couple Halloween themes designs under EHAG . . . I have a new line of Vampire art I want to introduce in December.

OMG...What’s happening to me? I have turned into a foo-foo fluff artist! I must be infected with the cute virus!

After taking much needed four days off from sculpting I will be back at work in my studio finishing up some “Yadiloh” (Holiday spelled backwards) ornaments.

I have posted some photos of my studio, but we will be remodeling this winter.

The Bordello Of Blood in Kansas City

We had a great Time at the Kansas City Renaissance Festival , Phantom's Feaste "Bordello of Blood". My husband Gan REALLY loved it!! Lots of Cleavage and Vampires! Enjoy the photos!!

San Diego Fires

I have been emailing my cousin Carol about the fires...My heart goes out to all those who have been affected by this devastation. I have posted Carols letter, my Uncle Jerry probably lost his home but as of this morning we have not hear from him.

"We are ok for now. It is difficult to get my brain around the enormity of this fire. 500,000+ homes evacuated is unbelievable. 2,000+ homes gone. We felt pretty good about our part of town during the day, but I am now smelling smoke and seeing it, plus hearing the planes making drops somewhere close. I can not get any news from the tv, or the net. So, we are holding our breath.

What do you hear from Uncle Jerry? Don't know what area of Rancho Bernardo he is in. My cousin Jerry and fam. who live in R.B. are ok, but some folks aren't so lucky.

Every few minutes, the tv shows a new fire area. It is just overwhelming.

Hi BIG Blog world!!

My name is Patty and I'm a Halloween Artist. I do have a little darkside in me....I love the macabre, quirky, ghoulish, creepy and sometimes a little morbid dark humor. Well this year I'm branching out into a new line I designed of Halloween ornaments called "Creepy Chenille". My Creepy Chenilles sold very well, sooooooo I decided to create a Holiday line of ornaments I named "Yadiloh Chenille". You can find my creations ONLY on eBay ! I will be mixing some ghostly holiday ornaments in with my Yadiloh ornaments. If you have a request for a special Holiday design post your idea...who knows I might design it and name it after you!
