I’m having a “Dead Broke” Halloween party!

I really wanted to have a Halloween party this year but with the slow economy and husband pay cut, How could I have a fun, creative and budget friendly party? Sooooooo we are having a
“Dead Broke” Halloweens party!
We are inviting our friends to a BYOB and also asking them to bring a snack to share. I stated decorating last weekend and I’m having a ball recycling all my Halloween decorations. I collect orange glass year round and I just added bright Orange lights to two of the hutch and topped it off with a Jack-O-Lantern and some vintage black cat bookends. The Fireplace mantel is not finished the skeleton still needs a bug to feed her giant spider. I’ll take some more photos as I get ready for the party.
I’m getting sooo excited!

  1. Hi Patty..

What a FUN idea...very clever!! So true about our economy , on a slow bleed I am afraid. Fun idea to recycle goodies and mix it up a bit. The BYOB is a great idea as well... I think we are all in the same boat...and if everyone pitches in and does their share...this situation will work out for all...
Have a Blast...PLEASE do send pics when you can...

  6. Patty,
What wonderful decorations and I love the orange glass with the lights. I bet that is truly spectacular in person. Your party sounds like a blast. Good for you for not letting the finances defeat you. This has been a tough year for us too. But I find I am discovering what is most important to me and how much I don't need. I too want to see the decorations when finished and pictures of the party please??? Thanks for sharing! Big hug,
    Tammy

  8. I think it is a great idea. Everyone is feeling the pinch this year. I never mind taking a dish to share, it is mostly about being with friends. I love your decorations...but, I knew I would!
