Photo of Ghostland Observatory

My son's Gan 27 and Kenny 24 live in Austin Texas. They moved from Saint Joseph , Missouri two years ago and really enjoy the Austin music scene. They are always keeping me informed on the local groups and concert. Tonight they are going to see the funky band Ghostland Observatory play with the University of Texas Symphony Orchestra. I have posted a video of Ghostland Observatory on my blog...check out the Funky dance moves by the singer!!! LOVE it!!!

Info on the "World of Sound" concert!
The University of Texas Symphony Orchestra, UT Wind Ensemble, UT Choral Ensembles, and a UT Jazz Ensemble assemble for a once-in-a-lifetime collaboration as they perform in a variety of combinations with opera stars, mezzo- soprano Frederica von Stade, bass- baritone vocalist Samuel Ramey, and Barbara Conrad, as well as Austin's electro-funk-rock duo, Ghostland Observatory, appearing with the University of Texas Wind Ensemble.

THREE DAY AUCTION...end early Saturday January 31, 2009
See my eBay link on this blog
As a lot of my collectors know I do not take special orders. I decided this year to offer a custom Haunted miniature art doll. I do not repeat past designs, so PLEASE do not ask me to create a similar Haunted miniature doll.

I LOVE creating Witches, Ghosts, Zombies, Vampires, Mummies, Wizards, etc. I don’t sculpt pretty fairy art dolls. I really enjoy a creepy challenge!

The auction is for ONE hand sculpted OOAK (One of a kind) Haunted miniature arts doll for your Haunted dollhouse 1/12 size 1"=1' design agreed upon by both artist (Me) and the collector (You). I will require one week to create the doll, full payment must be made BEFORE I start creating . . . FREE shipping.

This is your chance to create with me an OOAK Haunted Miniature art doll just for your special Haunted roombox, dollhouse or Halloween collection. Please visit my blog woopitydooart.blogspot (Link on my ME Page) to view a gallery of my past works.

PLEASE email me with any questions you have about this special auction.

The photos I have listed are from my studio where every day is Halloween! Thank you to all my wonderful collectors!

Creating Art Sober

Today I feel really happy, proud and still amazed that I did it!
Yes I did it! Six years ago today I gave up drinking!
I was so scared because when I sculpted I drank a lot . . . red wine was my creative energy.
Could I still sculpt sober? Would I still have creative thoughts? Would the people still like my work?
The answer to all is YES! Yes! Yes!

So on this special day I will be working quietly up in my Halloween Studio with a big Smile on my face . . . YES! I did it!

Monster Valentines from 1966

WOW!!! I found this wonderful site!
1966 Frankenstein Valentines...LOVE it!
All of the stickers are painted by Norman Saunders. The pencil artists who sketched the underlying compositions are unidentified, however, several designs appear to be by Jack Davis and Wally Wood, who were both routine freelance artists withTopps at that time. The display box and wax wrapper are both drawn by Wally Wood.
